The Mount Gilead boys’ cross country team took second place in their 19-team race at the Pickerington Invitational on Saturday.

The Indians were paced by Austin Hallabrin, who took second place in 17:01. He was followed by Kyle Ciballi, who ran 12th in 17:54. Nick Weiss placed 25th in 18:21 and Casey White finished 27th in 18:23.

Trevor Ball took 61st in 19:33, Gavin Robinson was 63rd in 19:44 and Kyle White finished 77th in 20:09 for the Indians. Also, Sy Shipman was 99th, Colton Clark took 105th, Logan Conrad ran 110th, Tyler Clark placed 120th, Isacc George placed 150th, Matt Robinson ran 152nd, Sawyer Shipman was 154th, Nathan Johnson took 192nd, Josh Conaway was 197th and Xavier Nells was 201st.

The girls finished sixth out of 23 teams in their race, with Jenna Shipman leading the way by placing fifth in 20:24. Hannah Bush took 27th in 21:37, while Darcy Picker finished 42nd in 22:29.

Micah James ran 86th in 24:10 and Kelsey Snyder was 90th in 24:14, while Jadyn Shipman placed 103rd in 24:48 and Hope Hack took 123rd in 25:15. Also, Kelly Baer was 270th.

Highland Scots

The Highland girls placed 12th of 19 teams at Newark Catholic on Saturday. Sophia Thompson led the Lady Scots by finishing 12th in 21:17.9.

Lydia Morgan took 60th in 23:15.7 and Laura Spearman ran 62nd in 23:25.7. Jena Buchholz was 68th in 23:54.5, Elizabeth Jensen placed 96th in 25:11.5, Olivia Longhenry ran 123rd in 26:41.6 and Jenna Brown ran 127th in 26:54.9. Also, Gracie Hinkle was 133rd, Hailey Howard placed 146th and Morgan Wilhelm was 147th.

The boys took 13th place in a 21-team race, with Devin Johnson running eighth in 17:10.8. Dalton Lee placed 79th in 19:36.1, while Collin Kipp took 90th in 19:51.1 and Jacob Serio was 96th in 20:03.6.

Finishing right behind him in 97th was Christian Buchholz with a time of 20:03.7. Jimmy Tebbe finished 109th in 20:32.5 and Chandler Bumpus took 113th in 20:46.4. Also, Jesse Matos was 133rd and Caleb Carder finished 137th.
