Highland’s volleyball season would end on Saturday in the district finals in a close-knit battle with Jonathan Alder.

The Scots won the first set by a 25-13 margin, but then dropped the next three by margins of 17-25, 20-25 and 23-25 to conclude the 2018 season with a 24-2 record.

Raina Terry finished with 20 kills and four blocks, while Makenna Belcher added nine kills. Abby Eusey had five kills and three blocks and Gena West tallied four kills and four blocks. Also, Ashlynn Belcher had three aces and three blocks and Christina Rose finished with four blocks.

Head coach Rob Terrill thanked his five seniors (Kelsee Bargnesi, Kenzee Bargnesi, Kacie O’Leary, Bridget Oder and Rose) for their contributions to the program. During their four years with Highland, the varsity team went 97-9, including a 56-0 mark and four championships in league play. They also made a Final Four appearance in 2016.
