Northmor VB earns first ever district championship

The Northmor volleyball team won their first ever district championship on Saturday when they topped Newark Catholic by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-20.

Competing at Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Ariel Arena in the Division III district finals, the win places them in the regional semifinals this Thursday against Defiance Tinora at Millbury Lake High School.

In the match, Hanna Bentley finished with two blocks and one ace, while Julianne Kincaid, Leslie Brubaker, Macy Miracle and Anna Donner all had one block. Kincaid added six kills; Brubaker had five kills, Miracle tallied an ace, 21 assists and five kills and Donner added two aces, 13 digs, four assists and 15 kills. Also, Aly Blunk had two aces and 16 digs, Abby Donner finished with eight digs and Lily Tate contributed five assists.
