Both Mount Gilead and Northmor will be taking their boys’ and girls’ cross country teams to regionals this upcoming Saturday.

MG won both their girls’ and boys’ district races, while Northmor was second in both of theirs — all in Division III. Also advancing will be three runners from Highland (Division II) and one from Cardington (Division III).

The Mount Gilead boys placed six runners inside the top 10 of their race to cruise to a district title. Liam Dennis finished third in 16:39.7, while Ethan Supplee ran fourth in 16:41. Kyle White placed sixth in 16:48.8, Casey White took seventh in 17:04.8, Michael Snopik was eighth in 17:13.9 and Brett Shipman finished ninth in 17:14.4. Also, Trevor Ball came in 16th place in 18:20.9.

The Indians edged Fredericktown to win their race, as Allison Johnson was first in 18:24.2 and Baylee Hack took second in 18:26.5. Olivia Millisor came in seventh in 20:22.7, while Selia Shipman finished 16th in 21:22.9 and Emily Hanft ran 20th in 21:48.4. Madison Fitzpatrick placed 22nd in 22:15.5 and Makayla Weaver took 29th in 23:13.

In the other Division III girls’ race, Northmor finished second to Centerburg. The Knights were led by Kristie Wright, who ran 10th in 21:02.3. Julianna Ditullio placed 15th in 21:18.8 and Sabrina Kelley took 19th in 21:28.8, while Julia Kanagy ran 24th in 21:59.6 and Olivia Goodson claimed 30th in 22:32.1. Also, Carolyn McGaulley ran 50th in 24:04.4 and Bailey Snyder finished 58th in 24:51.9.

The Northmor boys were second to MG in their race, as Gavvin Keen ran 10th in 17:16.5 and Ryan Bentley took 11th in 17:29. Amil Upchurch finished 14th in 18:11.2, Mostyn Evans was 17th in 18:23.5 and Kooper Keen placed 20th in 18:26.6. Also, Chase Hoover ran 23rd in 18:43.9 and Austin Amens claimed 29th in 19:05.7.

In that same race, Cardington finished fifth, but advanced Mason White to regionals. He finished second overall in 16:36.3. Racine Hallabrin picked up 21st in 18:30, while Kaleb Meade was 26th in 18:50.8. Mike Rose took 42nd in 20:29, Devin Gheen finished 46th in 20:45.7 and James Hallabrin ran 49th in 21:23.4.

For the Lady Pirates, Marlo Young was 34th in 23:23.5 and Ashlee Drury ran 61st in 31:52.5.

In Division II, the Highland boys barely missed out on a trip to regionals as a team, as they finished fifth in a race where the top four teams moved on. However, two runners did advance, as Dalton Lee was 14th in 17:39.7 and Collin Kipp took 16th in 17:50. Also, Bruce Jordan was 27th in 18:11, Zach Wetzel ran 38th in 18:47.3, Tucker Tague claimed 39th in 18:47.6, Alex McCafferty was 42nd in 19:12.1 and Jordan Bellamy finished 46th in 19:25.3.

Camberly Schade advanced out of the Division II girls’ race, as she was ninth in 20:24.6 for the ninth-place Lady Scots. Mia White took 42nd in 22:12.7 and Elizabeth Jensen finished 60th in 23:00. Julia Pauley ran 62nd in 23:09.2, Joanna Pauley finished 83rd in 24:37.1, Hayley Dailey placed 86th in 24:54.4 and Morgan Wilhelm took 89th in 25:23.9 for Highland.
