Pleasant senior soccer and football player Logan Thompson recently completed his final season as a Spartan.

Thompson, the son of Jeff and Brenda Thompson of Cardington and the grandson of Lowell and Margie Chilcote of Mount Gilead, set a pair of school records in soccer. During a season in which his team went 17-2, he scored 42 goals and finished with 119 — both totals being school records.

For his season, he was selected to the first-team MOAC for the fourth year in a row and was selected as the Player of the Year for the second year in a row, along with being recognized as a second-team All-District player. Thompson was selected to the All-County soccer team and played in the Senior All-Star game.

He also kicked for the football team, which ended the season at 10-2 and played for the Division V regional championship. He recorded 28 touchbacks, kicked 50 extra points and had five field goals. During the season, he kicked a 41-yard field goal, which is a new school record.

Thompson was selected as a second-team MOAC, first-team Central District and All-Ohio honorable mention player.
