Highland’s girls’ soccer team was topped by Mansfield Christian by a 13-0 margin on Saturday, Sept. 16. The team gave up seven goals in the first half and never could rebound from that deficit.

The team had a better performance at Crestview on Monday. After falling behind 3-0 in the first half, both teams scored twice in the second half of what turned out a 5-2 loss.

“Very encouraged by the team effort tonight,” said head coach Matt Mosher. “Extremely happy with the fight in all the girls after going down 3-0 in the first half.”

Olivia Sheets scored both goals for the Scots, while Emily White was cited for an assist.

Both Highland teams took on Marion Harding on Wednesday. The girls fell 1-0 in a defensive battle, with Harding’s goal coming in the second half. Riley Kemmer had a good game in goal for the Scots, recording 14 saves.

The boys fell by a 3-0 margin. Harding scored on a corner kick three minutes into the match and added another corner kick goal three minutes later. They would add a third goal 30 minutes into the second half to provide the final margin.
