Mount Gilead claimed the championship Saturday at Wyandot Golf Course in the second round of the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference championship.

MG finished with 340 shots, while second-place Cardington had 363. The Indians were led by Jason Bolha’s 74, while Mallory Graham shot 87 and Mitchell Bell had a round of 88. Brad Landon finished with 91 shots, Jacob Lodge had 94 andZac Trimble finished with 95.

For Cardington, Cayman Spires scored 87 and Jacob Spires shot 88. Danny Vaught had a round of 92 and Logan Doubikin shot 96. Also, Christian Hand shot 98 and Sage Brannon finished with 101 shots.

Highland finished fourth, as Drew Santo shot 91, Gunner Oakley scored 92 and Sam LoPiccolo tallied 93 shots. Also, Owen Mott scored 98 and both Dillon Lehman and Noah Dado shot 107.

For Northmor, who was sixth in the meet, Hayes Bentley led the way with a round of 81, while Ryan Bentley shot 88 and Aaron Berg shot 108. Also, Isaac Schnuerer shot 114 and Kamryn Ingles scored 116.

The match medalist was East Knox’s Drew Salyers, who had a round of 67.

Sectional Tournament Information

The Mount Gilead and Highland boys’ golf teams will both compete in the Division II meet hosted by Delaware’s Oakhaven Golf Course. Both teams will start from the first tee on Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m.

Cardington and Northmor will be in the Division III tournament at Marysville’s Darby Creek Golf Course on that same day. Northmor will begin on the first tee at 9 a.m., while Cardington will also start from the first tee, but at 9:50 a.m.

Also, four local girls will compete in two Division II girls’ sectional meets. Cardington’s Sage Brannon will compete on Monday, Sept 25 at Blacklick Woods Golf Course, Reynoldsburg, at 9:40 a.m. from the 10th tee.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, at Ostrander’s Mill Creek Golf Course’s 10th tee, Mount Gilead’s Mallory Graham will begin at 9:40 a.m., Northmor’s Isabelle Szuleski will start at 9:50 a.m. and Northmor’s Kamryn Ingles will tee off at 9:58 a.m.

Sectional draws announced
