Northmor crushed Mansfield Christian Monday in a game shortened to five innings due to the run rule.

In their 23-3 win, the Knights got four runs in the first inning and six in the second to take a 10-2 lead after two frames. They added 13 runs over the next two innings to put the Flames away and improve to 2-1.

Sam Eichorn, who picked up the win, and Mostyn Evans combined to strike out three, walk six and scatter three hits.

Offensively, Northmor got 13 hits and was helped by 12 walks and five MC errors. Both Hayes Bentley and Chris Bood tallied a pair of singles in the contest.

“We were able to get out starters out after an inning and a half,” said head coach Buck Workman. “It was nice to see some of our younger kids get some work.”
