Many Morrow County bowlers advanced from sectionals to districts in meets held on Friday and Saturday.

The girls’ Division III sectional saw Northmor finished third with 3271 pins. Cardington with fifth with 3049 and Highland was ninth with 2940 to also finish in the top 14 squads and move on to districts. Gilead Christian placed 21st with 2257 and Mount Gilead took 22nd with 2176.

Shelbey Lilly tied for second place overall for the Knights with a three-game total of 539. Also, Caitlin Adkins (458) was 24th, Alexis Yarnell (444) placed 32nd, Chloe Meier (410) finished 49th and Samantha Grogg (363) tied for 69th.

For Cardington, Gabreaelle Arnold tied for 15th with 485 pins. Addie Wilhelm (464) finished 22nd and Laynee Wilson (457) was 25th. Makenzie Blake and Andrea Oldham also bowled for the team.

The Scots got eighth place from Halie O’Leary, who scored 506 pins. Also, Hailey Howard (460) finished 23rd and Sophia Thompson (402) was 53rd. Autumn Burson and Maddie Chaffee also took to the lanes in the sectional meet.

Gilead Christian’s Emily Rich advanced as an individual by placing 61st with a total of 380. Also, Madison Fry (336) placed 79th, Naomi Shipman (332) was 82nd and Tabatha Griffin (318) took 90th. Leah Sites and Tori Griffin also saw action on the day.

MG was led by Madison Noble, who qualified as an individual, taking 57th place with a score of 392. Also, Kieli Griffith (339) took 77th, Rachel Davis (324) was 84th, Salena Worl (264) finished 115th and Morgan Murphy (227) finished 129th.

In the boys’ Division II sectional, Highland finished sixth with a total score of 3549 and Cardington was 10th with 3392 to advance. Also, Moung Gilead was 21st (3078), Northmor took 27th (2603) and Gilead Christian placed 30th (2298).

Highland’s top performer was Dana Hicks, who rolled 529 over three games to tie for 29th place. Also, Joey Bennett was 44th (495). Ben Rinehart, Zach Debord and Jordan Grizzle also rolled games for the Scots.

Cardington had the top local performer, as Austin Edgell finished tied for 13th with a score of 583. Blake Clapham was 23rd (541), Dallas Crum tied for 50th (487), Mason Travino tied for 72nd (449) and Matt Craig took 96th (409).

MG was paced by Jozef Jennings, who was 60th with a score of 471. Tyler Bryant was 76th (444), Damien Meyers tied for 82nd (440) and Zack Sellers finished 84th (434). Dylan Dixon also saw action for MG.

Northmor had an individual qualifier in Sam Eichorn, who bowled 512 for 39th place overall. Also, Alexandria Borders finished tied for 99th (401), Sarah Dudley was 112th (362), Gracelyn Stall finished 129th (291) and Ricky Borders rolled 142nd (246).

Garrett Jones led Gilead Christian by rolling 457 to tie for 66th. Gavin Mattix was 116th (337), Kuane Whitt (290) tied for 130th, Simon Sites was 133rd (285) and Colton Reas placed 134th (273).
