Mount Gilead helped ensure the Blue Division race would remain tight on Saturday by going on the road and defeating Centerburg by a 73-62 margin.

Currently, Centerburg and Northmor are 6-2 in league play, while MG, Cardington and Highland all are 5-3.

The Indians dominated the first quarter, leading 26-13 after eight minutes. The Trojans got within a 41-30 margin by the half, but Mount Gilead took the third 14-9 to lead by 16 entering the fourth quarter and were able to hold on to win by double digits.

Tyler Bland and Zack Hosack were hot from the field. Bland hit three three-pointers and led the team with 21 points, while Hosack connected four times from long range in scoring 20. Also, Mason Mollohan added 10 and both Austin Vanderkooi and Jason Bolha tallied eight.

Highland Scots

A fast finish boosted Highland past East Knox in a road game Saturday.

The game was close through the first three quarters, with the Scots leading 10-8 after the first, 19-14 at the half and 28-24 with eight minutes remaining. During that time, however, Highland took a 23-13 advantage to pull away for the 14-point win.

Quin Winkelfoos tallied 15 points to lead Highland, while Kaleb Phillips added 13 and Mack Anglin scored nine.
