Northmor’s offense was hot Thursday night at Mount Gilead, as the Knights walked away with a 62-37 win over the Indians.

The Knights took both the first and second quartes by 16-8 margins to lead 32-16 at the intermission. They then outscored MG 21-9 in the third to open up a 53-25 advantage. While the Indians had a 12-9 advantage in the fourth, they would not be able to get back into the contest.

Karalee Patterson led the Knights with 18 points, while Maddie Swihart scored 16, Lydia Farley had 12 and Lindsey Wiseman contributed eight. Madison Fitzpatrick led Mount Gilead with 18 points, while Samantha Sullivan contributed eight.

Cardington Pirates

A strong defensive performance paced Cardington to a 48-27 win at Highland on Thursday.

Cardington took a 13-7 lead after the opening period, which they increased to a 22-12 margin by the half. They would then outscore their opponents 14-6 in the third and 12-9 in the fourth to pull away for the league win.

Kyndall Spires scored 14 to lead the Pirates. Both Sage Brannon and Kynlee Edwards added 10, with Edwards hitting three three-pointers in the game. For the Scots, Kelsey Walters had a team-high eight points.
