Northmor rode four place-winners to a fifth-place finish at last weekend’s J.C. Gorman wrestling tournament in Mansfield.

At 138 pounds, Conan Becker took second place. He won his first four matches before being defeated 7-4 by Madison’s Carson Speelman. Becker’s brother, Conor, took third at 145, also going 4-1 for the tournament. He topped Thomas Forbes of Loudonville 8-2 in the consolation finals to earn his place.

Both Jake Neer (120) and Aaron Kitts (132) earned fourth place. Both wrestlers finished 3-2 in the two-day event.

Ben Singer won three matches at 170 pounds, but missed out on earning a top-six finish. Both Mason Burger (182) and Nathan Price (195) earned two wins. Manny Heilman (106), Wyatt Collier (126), Tony Martinez (152), Matthew Ross (160) and D.J. Christo (220) all won one match.

Cardington’s Taiylor Hubley also competed at the Gorman in the 113-pound weight class, but didn’t score any team points.
