Mount Gilead defeated Highland by a 162-202 margin on Wednesday to remain perfect at 8-0 in league play.

Zack Hosack was the match medalist with a round of 37. Grant Hack shot 40, Mitchell Bell had a round of 41 and Jason Bolha tallied 44 shots to round out the scoring golfers for the Indians on the day.

On Thursday, Mount Gilead clinched the Blue Division title in the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference while shooting a season-high best in a 153-201 win over Northmor.

Hosack shot a three-under-par 33 to earn medalist honors. Hack followed with a round of 36, while Bell shot 41 and Bolha totaled 43 shots. Northmor was led by Hayes Bentley, who finished with 41 shots.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington gained two more golf wins on Wednesday when they took on Village Academy and Northmor. The Pirates finished with a team total of 166, while Village Academy finished with 189 shots and Northmor took 200.

For the Pirates, both Nadia Kerman and Austin Yake shot 40 to tie for medalist honors. Sage Brannon shot 42, while Cayman Spires had a round of 44. Also, Logan Doubikin shot 45 and Jacob Spires tallied 47 strokes.

Both Hayes Bentley and Ryan Bentley shot 43 for the Knights. Isabelle Szulewski had a round of 55, while Kamryn Ingles shot 59. Levi Ebert had 64 shots and Natalie McGlothin finished with 67.

Cardington was topped by host Highland on Thursday, dropping an 183-198 decision to the Scots.

Highland was led by Caleb Dodds’ round of 43, while Sam LoPiccolo shot 44. Both Bryan Whited and Jarin Vasquez tallied rounds of 48, Chris Branham shot 49 and Luke Dodds finished with 55 shots.

Yake won medalist honors for the Pirates by shooting 41 on the day. Kerman shot 49, while Jacob Spires, Cayman Spires and Doubikin all had rounds of 54. Also, Sage Brannon shot 58.
