Cardington’s Austin Yake claimed individual medalist honors at the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference golf championships, hosted by Pine Lakes on Friday; while the Mount Gilead team earned the Blue Division title.

Yake shot a round of 73 to win by two strokes over Kameron Hall of Marion Harding. After shooting 39 over the first nine holes, he finished strongly, only taking 34 strokes to finish his day. Both Mount Gilead’s Zack Hosack and Fredericktown’s Brandon Main shot 76 to tie for third.

Hosack led an Indian squad that took the Blue with a team total of 355. The Blue was a close race, as Fredericktown took second with 358 and Cardington was third with 361 total shots. Highland was fourth with 377, while Centerburg (392) and Northmor (488) rounded out the field.

MG’s total was third overall, as Red Division champ Pleasant had the best overall score of 339, while Galion scored 348 to finish second in the Red. Also competing in the Red Division were River Valley (367), Harding (372) and North Union (400).
