Morrow County Health Dept. Recycling and Litter Prevention Coordinator, Louann Holmes gave two awards at the May Chamber of Commerce meeting to persons who have been great supporters of the recycling and litter prevention programs in Morrow County.

The first award went to the Morrow County Commissioners for their support for the county’s programs. Holmes said she has spoken with many from other counties in the state and realized that Morrow County Commissioners are very supportive of litter and recycling programs – especially when compared with other counties.

A second award went to Dixie Shinaberry who volunteers for many recycling

projects in the county. Shinaberry spoke about the example of her parents and aunt who always encouraged service for the community.

Holmes noted that the awards were made from recycled glass.
