The Northmor FFA held it’s annual parent-member banquet to recognize members’ accomplishments and thank those who have helped the chapter over the year.

Each year, different individuals from the community are honored for their efforts to benefit the Northmor FFA by receiving the ‘Honorary Chapter Farmer’ award, which provides honorary membership to the Northmor FFA chapter.

This year Ann Shirk and Vickie Brubaker received the distinction.

In the FFA , there are four different degrees a member can receive. The highest degree that can be rewarded at the chapter level is the chapter degree. Collin Berg, Josh Caudill, Samantha Grogg, Manny Heilman, Noah Trainer and Becca Duckworth were recipients of the honor.

The Northmor FFA fruit sale is the biggest fundraiser the organization holds.

They recognized the top-two salesman out of all the members of the FFA. In first place was Maggie Logan and in second was Zach Parrott

Many members were then recognized for their accomplishments for completing in various judging contests.

The soil judging team consisted of Spencer Adams, Zach Parrott, Collin Berg and Ethan Chapman were recognized for winning the district two contest and getting 17th at the state competition.

Placing fifth at state, after winning the district, contest was the wildlife team of Zane Parrott, Zach Parrott, Chris Bood, AJ White, Maggie Logan, Ben Singer, Dylan Timmon and Aaron Berg.

Next, the livestock team, consisted of Noah Trainer, Nate Morris, Becca Duckworth, Samantha Grogg, Alex Stacy, Jackalyn Sautter, Sara Drumm, Hannah Quibelland Sophia Whisler finished 19th at the state competition.

During the banquet class scholarship winners were also announced.

They included: Aaron Berg, Aly Blunk, Lexie Stoney, Chris Bood, Hayes Bentley, Becca Duckworth, AJ White and Spencer Adams.

Next to be presented were the proficiency awards, designed to give recognition to the FFA members who have excelled in their projects.

Winners included: Dylan Timmons with oil crop production; Zach Parrott with small animal production; Maggie Logan with beef production; Adam Barrett with swine production; Becca Duckworth with poultry production; Zach Parrott with sheep production; Maggie Logan won equine placement;

In the area of forage production was Zach Parrott. Collin Berg won the area of dairy production. In the area of goat production was Becca Duckworth. Manny Heilman won the area of Ag sales placement.

In the area of diversified crop production was Dylan Timmons. Finally, in the area of diversified livestock, the winner was Zach Parrott.

Northmor FFA advisor Ken Parrott presented several special awards. He announced that Maggie Logan, Spencer Adams and Zach Parrott would be receiving their state degrees at the state conventio.

Ellie Logan would be receiving the American degree at the national convention in the fall.

He also announced that Zach Parrott was a top-four state finalist in two different proficiency areas- sheep production and small animal production.

Maggie Logan was awarded the Ag Credit 110 percent award. Spencer Adams was awarded the Senior Leadership Award.

Zane Parrott won the Star Greenhand Award and Zach Parrott was awarded the Star Chapter Farmer Award.

The chapter’s newly officers are: president, Zach Parrott, vice president, Maggie Logan, secretary, Becca Duckworth, treasurer, Noah Trainer, reporter, Zane Parrott, sentinel, Miranda Harveyand student advisor, Adam Barrett.
