Inclement weather did not deter more than 800 people who attended the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus when it visited Cardington May 10.

The Big Tent was set up on the Cardington-Lincoln High School grounds The visit was sponsored by Friends of Cardington. A spokesperson for the organization said that with the help of many local business owners

there were many free tickets given to children and their families.

One of those was the Cardington Public Library who conducted a reading contest and gave over 30 tickets. As sponsor of the event, the Friends of Cardington received a donation from the circus that will be used to offset the cost of the Cardington Senior Fair to be held June 25, 2016.
