The curtain will soon rise at the Morrow Little Theatre at 102 East Main Street in Cardington.

Kicking off the new era in Morrow County theatre will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:45 a.m. on April 9.

Participating will be Cardington Mayor Susie Peyton and Joey Powell, Morrow Little Theatre president.

It will be followed by an open house from noon to 2 p.m. where memorabilia will be displayed that will provide visitors with the Morrow Little Theatre history. Board members will be in character as they guide visitors on a tour of the building.

MLT’s own Ken Barnett will perform as Mark Twain and local artists will create a mural during the open house. Season tickets will also be given away and light refreshments will be served.

The theater’s first production will be “Steel Magnolias,” on April 15-17. It will be directed by Ken Barnett.
