The Northmor JOG and Youth Safety Council went to the Ronald McDonald House on March 10 to take 10 boxes of pop tabs from the elementary students pop tab war in October and to volunteer cleaning the whole house.

Students swept floors, washed windows, emptied trash, vacuumed rugs and disinfected play rooms, the dining room, kitchens, and anything else that could be cleaned. Students took a tour of the Ronald McDonald House as it is the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world with 137 rooms.

Former JOG student Josh Montgomery, who had been a volunteer at the house for four years, is now using the Ronald McDonald House while his two week old daughter is at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The Northmor JOG and Youth Safety Council presented a check to Katie Ziegler, Director of the Volunteer Program, for $1400 which which was raised through donations at home football games, Jeans Week for Northmor Teachers, Haunted Trails, and from Wayne Bradley, owner of the Shell Station on State Route 95.

This is the second year that the group has given them a $1400 check. Northmor is the only school that gives them a donation check. The group would like to increase their donation amount next year.
