Morrow County Commissioners approved John Harsch as the new Emergency Management Director at their Wednesday meeting.

Harsch comes to Morrow County from his position as Fire Chief in the City of Mansfield.

“I’m excited about this opportunity, ” said Harsch. “I look forward to working for continued improvement for Morrow County in emergency management.”

Harsch follows Arlin Bradford who served as Interim EM Director following the retirement of Joe Edwards.

Edwards reminisced about his 19 years as Emergency Management Director.

“We had our share of disasters,” remarked Edwards, speaking about some of the spills, explosions and floods in the county during his years in the management position.

“Emergency Management is the hub of activity with law enforcement, fire, and EMT the spokes on the wheel,” said Edwards.
