WINTER POPS CONCERT PLANNED AT UF – The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will join at 3 p.m. Feb. 14 in Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium for the annual Winter Pops Concert.

Admission is free but tickets are required. They can be picked up at the door or reserved in advance at Marathon Center for the Performing Arts, 200 W. Main Cross St., (419) 423-2787.

“Love is in the Air” will be the theme for this Valentine’s Day program. The bands will perform “The Beatles: Love” music from the popular Cirque du Soliel show, music from “West Side Story,” highlights from “Phantom of the Opera” and more.

Featured soloist will be Kelly Lewis, saxophonist and pianist. Lewis, a staff accompanist and University music librarian, is a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Bowling Green State University.

UF ENROLLMENT UP – The University of Findlay is marking its seventh consecutive semester of enrollment increases this spring semester with a 6.3 percent jump in the number of full and part-time students attending.

Excluding College Credit Plus high school students, a total of 3,925 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled compared to 3,689 in Spring 2015. The number of undergraduates increased by 4.9 percent, with 2,619 now attending compared to 2,496 a year ago. Graduate enrollment has risen by 9.4 percent, with 1,306 attending compared to 1,193 last spring.

The consistent enrollment increases, experienced during a time of attendance instability in higher education regionally and nationally, illustrate UF’s ongoing commitment to educational quality and commitment to its students.

VALENTINE’S DINNER PLANNED – Ashland University’s Catering and Conference Services will hold a Valentine’s Candlelight Dinner on Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. in Myers Convocation Center on the AU campus. The event is open to all students, faculty and members of the public.

With menu items ranging from lobster bisque to raspberry crème brûlée, the dinner will provide Ashland University’s award winning chefs an opportunity to present several options of gourmet foods for their guests. Those who attend will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne included with their meal. A full cash bar will be available as well.
