Paige Cole was crowned Highland High School’s Winter Homecoming Queen, and Jacob Fox was crowned king at homecoming ceremonies on Jan. 22.

The ceremony was held in between the varsity and junior varsity games at the boys’ basketball game against Mt. Gilead, with the dance following the game.

Paige is the daughter of Paul Cole and Lynn Denman. She plays basketball for the Lady Scots, is president of the National Honor Society, is on student council and is a member of the Business Professionals of America. Denman would like to be an operating room specialist in the Army Reserves and wants to major in business with a minor in Spanish at the University of Louisville.

Jacob Fox is the son of Rick Fox and Joyce Fox. He participates in football and baseball for the Fighting Scots and has earned varsity letters in both. He plans to become a fireman in his future.

Senior members of the court were Jena Buchholz, Steven Hylton, Autum West, and Austin Phillips.

Jena Bucholz participates in cross country and track for the Lady Scots and has earned varsity letters all four years. Bucholz plans to attend The Ohio State University to major in Clinical Psychology and would like to work at a VA Hospital.

Steven Hylton plays football for the Scots, where he earned the following honors: The Coach’s Award, Honorable Mention MOAC and Honorable Mention North Central Ohio Football Coach’s Association. He plans to attend college and major in Physical Therapy or Sports Medicine.

Autum West is the daughter of Glenn and Jeorganna West and was escorted by her dad. Autum has been a cheerleader for the Fighting Scots in the past, and her special interests include shopping, hanging out with friends, and sleeping. Autum plans to attend Ohio University in her future to study Social Work.

Austin Phillips is the son of Mike and Terri Phillips and was escorted by his mother. He is the Vice President of the Highland FFA and is a member of the Business Professionals of America. Austin is on the academic honor roll, and his extra interests include

snowboarding, working construction, and just chilling out with his friends. In his future, Austin plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in Construction Management.

Crowning the king was Student Council Representative Jacob Serio. He is the son of Michelle Serio and was escorted by his mom. Jacob runs cross country for the Scots and is involved in student council and 4-H. In his spare time, he enjoys politics, running, raising animals, and spending time with his family. Jacob plans to attend law school or study for an MBA in his future.

Other court members were Austyn Albanese, Kelsey Walters, Caleb Dodds, Sophia Thompson, Jarin Vasquez, and Ciera Greaves.
