The University of Findlay will join the Oxley family in hosting a public memorial service in honor of U.S. Congressman Michael G. Oxley, who died Jan. 1. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 5 at Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium.

The Congressman was an integral part of the UF community for many years, and will be greatly missed. The University welcomed him as a Board of Trustees member and awarded him an honorary doctoral degree.

In February 2015, he and his wife, Patricia, in an altruistic decision that celebrates their close ties to The University of Findlay and their strong commitment to education, donated $500,000 toward construction of the University’s Center for Student Life and the College of Business building that is expected to be constructed within the next few years.

Oxley’s connection and dedication to UF, and his service to his country through impactful actions such as the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, will be remembered and celebrated.
