Mount Gilead Commissioner Tom Whiston released an impressive list of public endorsements today in his bid for State Representative in Ohio’s 87th House District, which encompasses all of Morrow, Crawford and Wyandot counties with portions of Marion and Seneca counties.

“The overwhelming support across north central Ohio over the course of this campaign demonstrates the confidence our federal, state and local elected officials have in my capacity to represent our conservative values in Columbus,” said Whiston.

In addition to his list of endorsements, Whiston has raised over $35,000 for his campaign with the support of scores of donors, with nearly all his financial support coming from within the five-county district.

Tom Whiston was born and raised in Mount Gilead and still calls the town home today. He graduated from Mount Gilead High School in 1976. He then went on to graduate from the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 1981. Since then, he has enjoyed working as a third-generation pharmacist at family-owned Whiston Pharmacy in Mount Gilead. He is a proud father of four (Jonathan, Whitney, Joseph and Hannah) and a new grandfather to one (Oliver). He is also a proud and faithful Christian and enjoys attending church at Trinity United Methodist in his hometown.
