The Morrow County United Way “Dashing through the snow” 5K will be held Saturday, Jan. 30 at Headwaters Outdoor Education Center at 151 Home Rd., Mount Gilead. Registration for the race will be from 7:45 – 8:40 a.m.
Home Road is just northeast of Mount Gilead, off St. Rt. 42 by the Morrow County Jail, and Headwaters Outdoor Education Center is just 1/4 mile north of the Jail on Home Road.
Morrow County United Way Director Jodi Hayes encourages participants to bring a sled to pull someone on the course if there is snow. There is also a hill for sledding if people want to sled while waiting for runners to finish the race.
Hayes added that this is a trail run. Hopefully it will be snowy, but it may also be “trotting through the mud or clomping on frozen tundra.” In any case the surface is uneven in all kinds of weather.
Hayes and the United Way Board Members invite the community to come out to Headwaters to enjoy the morning and join in the fun.
