Christmas on the Square, hosted by Diversified Insurance Services, was well-attended Wednesday night and families enjoyed the mild temperatures as they waited for sleigh rides and visits with Santa Claus.

The village square was picture perfect with street corner carolers and holiday hustle bustle of local families taking advantage of local merchants extended hours. Many of the stores held activities for young children as they completed a treasure hunt.

Activities included Christmas card crafting, photos with Santa, Elza and Olaf, free popcorn, movie and hotdogs, letters to Santa, reindeer display and plenty of good-old fashioned Christmas spirit. The event offered a friendly competition for families at various local merchants; ugly Christmas sweaters, Christmas stockings, Christmas cookies, Christmas wreaths or ornaments to name a few. The Morrow County Historical Society hosted the Young Professional group and opened their conference room for visits with Santa.

There is no place like home for the holidays!
