The Mt. Gilead Kiwanis is pleased to announce the five high school recipients of the Mt Gilead Kiwanis scholarships for 2015. Applications were accepted from Morrow County resident high school seniors who plan to pursue educational goals after high school. Thank you to the 25 students who applied.

Applicants submitted: 2 letters of recommendation; a high school transcript (which for some students showed that the ACT test was taken twice); an essay sharing how the student’s volunteering has impacted other people’s lives – in particular the lives of children; and a 2-page application detailing career goals, financial need, school involvement and community service.

The honorees will be awarded a scholarship of $500 each after proof of completion of their first semester in college. The 2015 awards have been presented to Taylor Hack, Mt Gilead High School; Kayla Davies, Highland High School; Lauren Bood, Jesamie Houghtby, and Kelsey Reeder from Northmor High School. Best wishes to all of them!
