Red Ribbon Week Kickoff Program will be on Oct. 29 at Mount Gilead High School from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

It will begin a week to support awareness for prevention of drug and alcohal abuse. It will be in the MGHS Gymnasium with the Mt. Gilead High School Show Choir and Band performing.

Speakers slated for the event include: Morrow County Sheriff’s Office detective, K-9 unit officer and inspirational speaker, Annette Johnson. The program is open to 9th – 12th grade students and parents who attend any school or home school in Morrow County.

The event is hosted by DAAP (Drug and Alcohol Awareness and Prevention) of Morrow County with support from several community organizations of Morrow County. Sponsors ask those attending to wear red to the event and throughout the Red Ribbon Week from Oct. 23-31 to support drug prevention.
