What are CDE’s? Have you ever heard of an SAE?

Well, Tuesday, September 15 Highland FFA held its annual Greenhand Night at which these two things and more were explained in greater depth to Highland FFA’s first year members. The time spent with the first year FFA members is in high hopes of getting more kids involved in the chapter’s various activities throughout the year. The more involved you get with FFA the more you will enjoy it!

The 15 greenhands who attended were: Lucy Smith, Cailin Smith, Ashley Fetherolf, Lilly York, John Hurt, Rebecca Cooper, Joey Scaffidi, Triston Tuggle, Chandler Bumpus, Gracie Hinkle, Dalton Lee, Kailyn Sloan, Jordan Adkins, Austin Schauer, and Tyler Williams.

“I had a fun time learning about the types of CDE’s there are and meeting this year’s officer team! I’m looking forward to learning more and plan on participating in a few of the CDE’s that really seemed interesting to me,” said Tyler Williams when asked what he thought after attending Greenhand Night.

For your information CDE’s are Career Development Events which are designed for career exploration and SAE’s which are Supervised Agricultural Experiences, usually a students out of school Ag project.
