Hot weather and an occasional shower did not deter visitors to the 165th Morrow County Fair.

Brandon Strain, president of the Senior Fair Board said, “I thought it was a success – even with the weather conditions.” Records show the attendance was down by only 224 from the 2014 fair.

“The crowd was good,” said Strain, while giving kudos to the junior and senior fair boards. “I am thankful for their good work.”

He noted they had the largest sign up for drag racing that they have ever had and the largest crowds since 2010 attended the Saturday night OSTPA truck and tractor pulls. He noted that harness racing “went well” with three races added on Monday with 60 horses and four races added on Tuesday with 64 horses. Money was made on the pari- mutuels, said Strain.

Working the entrance gates were members of the Mount Gilead Music Boosters and the Northmor Running Club (Cross Country and Track) worked the Pit gates.

The Board of Directors election will be held from 9 am to 1 pm on November 7, 2015
