MOUNT GILEAD — Sunday, Dec. 13 will be the final day for the Morrow County History Center to be open this year. Located at 17 W. High St., the hours are 2-4 p.m.

Along with permanent displays illustrating Morrow County’s industry and commerce from the past, the Center’s lobby currently features nostalgic items from the 1960s – a blast from the past.

Speaking of blast, the Morrow County Historical Society’s new 2021 pictorial calendar, featuring the county’s “Oil Boom of the ‘60s” will be on sale at the History Center for $10.00 per copy. The limited-edition publication documents in words and photos the frantic activity of the few years that changed Morrow County forever, after the discovery of great oil reserves underground.

This is the 29th year for the MCHS to print calendars. Previous editions will also be on sale at the History Center during tours. Remember to wear your mask.
