09/07/2015 – 11:45 a.m. —A local man was killed in a late Sunday evening accident involving an all-terrain vehicle.
In a press release issued this morning, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said they are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 7 in Morrow County on County Road 137.
Justin Hoffman, age 22, of Marion, was operating a Suzuki Quadrunner ATV, eastbound on CR 137. A passenger, Zachary T. Sahr, age 22, of Mount Gilead, was a passenger on the rear of thc ATV. Sahr fell from the ATV and onto the roadway.
Sahr was pronounced dead on the scene. He was transported to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.
The Cardington Township Fire and EMS, and Morrow County Sheriff’s Deputies were on scene for assistance and traffic control.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Helmets were not used.
This is the third fatality in 2 years, with the involvement of an ATV on public roadways in Morrow County.
