Monday – 3:30 pm – Morrow County Sheriff Steve Brenneman has announced the Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Morrow County Coroner, is investigating the death of a 9-year-old boy Sunday, August 23, 2015.
A Monday press release stated Morrow County 911 received a call about 1:30 pm regarding a juvenile who was not breathing on Congress Twp. Road 96.
Officers from the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Morrow County EMS, Johnsville Fire Department, and Air Evac medical helicopter responded to the scene, where the child was unresponsive. The child was transported to Morrow County Hospital by EMS, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the release, initial reports indicated that the child was riding a 4-wheeler at his residence at 5000 block of Twp. Road 96 in Morrow County. According to reports, he fell off the 4-wheeler. A sibling found him and got help. Family members put him in a car to transport him to the hospital. The child’s condition worsened and they stopped at a neighbor’s house to seek help.
The child has been identified as Colin Stair, born in 2006.
Cause of death has not been determined at this time. An autopsy will be performed. The incident is under investigation to determine what happened. There are no known witnesses.
