Members of Jenkins-Vaughan Auxiliary Unit 97, Cardington, will accept donations for poppies. Unit members will offer the poppies at various businesses. Money donated to the poppy program aids veterans in many ways, including medical care and housing. The official Poppy Day this year is May 24.

May 18

The Morrow County Genealogical Society’s monthly meeting, 2 p.m. Please note the date change due to the upcoming holiday weekend. The program is entitled William the Conqueror in the 21st Century, presented by Janet Rhodebeck. The meeting will be held at the Mt Gilead Public Library Annex, 35 East High Street. Meeting is open to the public.

Ashley-Brown-Elm Valley-Buckeye Valley Alumni Association third reunion, Klilbourne United Methodist Church. Doors open 4:30 p.m., dinner 6 p.m. Graduating classes of 1939, 1949, 1959 and 1969 will be honored. Reservations made to Nancy Weiser, 6999 Wheeler Road, Delaware. Price for the meal is $17. First Presbyterian Church, 55 N. Cherry St., Fourth Saturday Breakfast, 7-10 a.m. The menu includes made-to-order omelets, hash browns, and toast. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. The proceeds this month will be donated to the local Special Olympics.

Galion Public Library and Ironwood Wolves for a presentation of “Foxes in Folklore,” 1 p.m. Foxes have been featured in art, fairy tales, and stories throughout history. Guest presenters discuss how foxes are viewed all over the world in art and literature, and also cover basic facts on red foxes. Registration is requested by calling the library at 419-468-3203.

The Cardington-Lincoln High School Class of 1979 will hold its 40th reunion at Shamrock Winery, 111 County Road 25, Waldo. The event, from 5 to 9 pm, will include a casual dinner with limited wine offered. A class photo is scheduled to be taken at 6 p.m. Cost is $25 and checks can be sent to Cindy Weston, 3161 CR 168, Cardington 43315. She can be reached at 419-768-4377.
