Ben Jennings from Mohican Sports Medicine, led Cardington Seniors in some simple exercises when he spoke to them during their meeting held at Seniors on Center Oct. 26.

Introduced by Chris Wilford, activity coordinator with the Senior Center, Jennings distributed information to the group showing the exercises that strengthen the core (thorax and abdomen) legs and arms. The group practiced them and felt they were doable for any age.

Consistent practice is needed, he said, as it takes two to three weeks to develop a new habit.

This was the final meeting for Shirley Robinson, president of the seniors for several years. She is moving from the area. The new president is Marie Christiano.

Giving the devotions was Pastor Paul Turner. Based on Colossians 3:15, he said, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts and be thankful.”

Due to the holidays, the next two meetings will be on Nov. 16 Dec. 21.

Providing cookies for this meeting were Christiano and Marnie Buchel. Cookies will be furnished by Virginia Thompson and Phyllis Jiles for the December meeting.

Speaker at the November meeting will be Gary Gandee, who will give the talk he gave on the Gandee Bakery during the recent Glendale Cemetery Walk. Also sharing information will be representatives from Ohioans Home Health Care.

Reservations and cancellations for the November meeting must be made by noon Nov. 15 by calling 419-946-4191
