MOUNT GILEAD — The 2019 edition of the Morrow County Historical Society photo calendar goes on sale at an open house at the Society’s History Center, 17 W. High St., Oct. 20 from 1-3 p.m.
The public is invited to tour the facility, learn about local history and purchase calendars for $10 each. Since 1993 the group has produced an annual publication that has proven to be a popular item with residents.
The theme for this 27th edition is Morrow County’s Role in World War I. The Victory Shaft monument will turn 100 years old in 2019 and the new calendar will serve to launch renewed interest in learning of that sacrifice county residents made during “The Great War.”
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Morrow County Historical Society’s programs and its three properties. Calendars from previous years will be for sale at a reduced rate.
The History Center is open Sunday from 2-4 p.m. through Nov. 25.
