CHESTERVILLE — Selover Library doesn’t believe that the excitement of the day after Thanksgiving should be limited to stores. The staff is hosting a Black Friday event for library patrons Friday, Nov. 24.

“We had a wonderful donation of brand new teddy bears,” said director Suzi Lyle. “So this year we are giving out free stuffed animals, which can be used as gifts or just loved immediately by our younger patrons.”

The “li-bear-y” toys will be given out one per patron starting at 1 p.m., until supplies run out, to those who check out books, movies, magazines, music or other materials.

For patrons who will be too busy shopping to make it to the library, Selover Library is sponsoring a scavenger hunt. From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, participants will search for items on a list provided by the library.

They’ll take photos and send them to the library’s Facebook page. Participants who complete the challenge will be entered in a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. Scavenger hunt checklists will be available at the library and on the library’s Facebook page.

Library hours on Black Friday are the same as every Friday: 1 to 7:30 p.m.
