FULTON — Lutheran Memorial Camp will host its 43rd Apple Butter Festival Sunday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There is no admission charge for the event which will feature fun, food and games, all family oriented.

The day’s highlight will be the grand auction beginning at noon and closing at 3 p.m. Silent bids will be made in the auction tent and winners will be announced shortly after.

There will be a vast array of desserts including some sugar and gluten free.

Other food items will be the camp’s famous homemade bean soup and cornbread. Apple butter and cider will be served and sold.

Other attractions include an arts and crafts show, yard and carnival games with prizes. Hayrides will be given and entertainment includes live music by the folk-rock ensemble Avalon Nine.

There will be free lawn games to play, a petting zoo from the Morrow County 4-H Extension, face and pumpkin painting cupcake decorating, and scarecrow creation competition. Prizes will be awarded.

Mums and gourds will be available to purchase and pumpkins to decorate.

Registrations are still being accepted from crafters for “Artisans’ Alley,” all hand-made American gifts for sale.

Donations to the auction can still be made at the camp office.

All proceeds from this event fund the Camperships (financial assistance) to children who want to participate in the camping experience.)
