At the Big Walnut Joint Fire District Fire Board Meeting in June, the Fire Board promoted five new Firefighters to the rank of Captain. We are proud to announce the following Firefighters Dan Huddleston, Dave White, Chad Crouse, Ben Lovell and Captain Chad Cavinee to the rank of Fire Captain.

Dan Huddleston began his 14 year career as a Firefighter/HazMat Specialist at BWJFD in 2001 at the age of 18. Dan currently works as a Safety Manager at in environmental company in Columbus.

Chad Cavinee also began his career as a Firefighter / EMT at BWJFD as an Explorer and has moved through the ranks to Captain. Chad has served as Captain for three years and currently works for Morrow County EMS and BST&G Fire Department in Sunbury.

Chad Crouse joined BWJFD in 2013 as a fire cadet and worked his way to Fire Captain. Crouse works as a Professional Roofer in Columbus.

Ben Lovell came to BWJFD in 2008 and currently works as Fire Lieutenant / Paramedic at Liberty Township Fire Department in Powell.

Dave White is also a career Firefighter / Paramedic for Liberty Township Fire Department in Powell and has grew up in the Fire Service. Like some, Dave started his fire career as a Fire Explorer and has worked his way to Captain.
