Incident reported

A motorist reported a man jumped on her car and yelled at her on West Marion Road. She said she panicked, hit the gas pedal causing him to fall off. He fled the scene.

Narcotics arrest

A man was arrested for possession of drug abuse instruments after a syringe was found with bloody fluid residue.

Aug. 25

Theft

A woman was arrested for shoplifting and taken into custody on Marion Road.

Teens advised

A report of teenagers playing on the playground equipment on North Cherry Street was reported. An officer spoke to their parents and told them it is intended for younger children.

OVI citation

A man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence and aggravated menacing on West Elm and Cherry streets.

Overdose

Officer assisted with a medical overdose on North Main Street.

Drug paraphernalia

Officer assisted Ohio Highway Patrol on a stop and search of a vehicle. Drug paraphernalia was located.

Aug. 28

Accident reported

Two vehicles collided in a parking lot on Marion Road, damaging both.

Property entered

A South Rich Street property owner said the back door had been forced open. The door frame was damaged but nothing was taken.

Burglary reported

A resident of Lee Street said he was burglarized by someone known to him.

Intoxication

A man sitting on the ground at Dollar General was arrested for public intoxication.

Domestic violence

A man was arrested for domestic violence on West High Street.

Aug. 29

Intoxication

A man sitting in front of the Duke station was arrested for public intoxication.

Unpaid fuel

A man got $40 worth of diesel fuel at Certified and did not pay for it. He said he was camping at the fairgrounds and left his driver’s license. Officers at the fair were requested to find him.

Narcotics charge

A man was cited for driving under suspension and for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Aug. 31

Assists with patient

Officer assisted rescue squad one at Highland Avenue with an unconscious patient. The person was taken to the hospital.

Shots fired

A man fired shots into the ground on his property on South Main Street after a neighbor’s dog came onto his lot. He said he did so because the dog was growling at him and he was afraid. The officer investigated and advised the man not to fire his pistol in the village.The owner of the dog was advised to keep the animal on a leash. No charges were filed.
