Fall is for planting class, Ag Credit Building upstairs conference room; 6 p.m. Class will cover why fall planting of perennials, trees and shrubs is important, the correct times and how to care for them.

“Wee” Discover at the Headwaters Outdoor Education Center begins. There are two sessions every Thursday at 10:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. “Wee” Discover is a preschool program for children three, four and five years old accompanied by a caregiver.No registration or fees. Each session is different – come for one or all sessions. Location is east of Mount Gilead off U.S. 42 on County Road 76 (Home Road).

Sept. 8-10

The Mansfield Youth Theatre will present Disney’s “The Lion King, Jr.” at the Renaissance Theatre. Tickets are $15 for the full performances and are available at the Renaissance Box Office, via phone at 419-522-2726 and online at MansfieldTickets.com.

Sept. 9

The Teeple Family Reunion carry-in picnic, 1 until 4:30 at the Mount Gilead State Park. Meet in Shelter House 1 for a sharing of fun, games, food, photos and family histories. A few of the family names are Teeple, Long, Hershner, Dix, Williams, Fouble, Watkins, Bloomfield, Moore and Carr.

Sept. 13

Park Avenue Elementary is celebrating the birthday of author Roald Dahl at Back to School Literacy Night from 6-7 p.m. This free family event will include guest readers, crafts, snacks, new book previews and a book swap.

The Tomorrow Center meets at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
