FREDERICKTOWN — Four people were injured when a car and an Amish buggy crashed on Monday night. It happened around 8 p.m. in the area of 20137 Waterford Road, north of Fredericktown.

According to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a man, a woman, and their 14-week-old baby were in the buggy when it was struck from behind by the driver of a Lincoln Town Car.

The woman in the buggy was flown to OSU’s Wexner Medical Center from the scene. The man and the infant were taken to Knox Community Hospital and later flown to OSU Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

The driver of the town car was taken to Knox Community Hospital.

Troopers suspect alcohol played a factor in the crash. That victims’ conditions were not released.

The crash remains under investigation.
