MOUNT GILEAD — Morrow County Farm Bureau is having its annual meeting Wednesday, Aug. 16.

“If you have never been to the annual meeting, we encourage you to join us this year and learn more about what our organization is doing in the county and your community,” a news release states.

It is being held at Cedar Creek Barn, 7723 U.S. 42, Mansfield. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 and available from any of your county Farm Bureau Trustees or call 800-327-6055 by noon on Aug. 9 to make reservations and pay at the door.

Keynote speakers will talk about local efforts to aid the ranchers affected by the wildfires and the road trip to Kansas. Members should be prepared to vote on farm bureau policies and elect trustees and 2018 delegates to Ohio Farm Bureau annual meeting.

“The policies of Farm Bureau are the backbone of the organization. They provide the framework through which we advocate for family, community and food security. They help guide efforts to address real community issues — regulations, funding public education and services, environmental protection, animal care, health care, landowner’s rights and community planning. These policies and trustees help guide the yearly plan of work for Morrow County Farm Bureau volunteers.

“The county (local) Farm Bureau is the very heart and strength of the organization. Morrow County Farm Bureau is seeking candidates for trustees to be elected at the annual meeting.”

There are two open positions on the board. Contact the office or [email protected] for information on opportunities to volunteer.
