Pies auctioned at festival

Eleven Cardington FFA officers made pies that were auctioned at the annual Cardington Street Fair on June 24.

Contributing with their own cherry pie was the Cardington Fire Department who donated it support the FFA Chapter.

The chapter thanked Betty Brandum for organizing the auction and Wes Wigton, auctioneer. Thanks, also, to all the bidders and buyers who made the auction a great fund raiser for the Cardington FFA Chapter.

Attend Ohio FFA Camp

Thirty members of the Cardington FFA Chapter visited Ohio FFA Camp Muskingum where they attended the fifth session of camp.

Members learned how to step out of their comfort zones to try new things. There were times to learn as well as times to talk and meet new people. It added up to a great time at camp.

Leadership conference

Cardington FFA President Makenna McClure and Vice President Daniel Kill traveled to Washington, D.C. on June 21 to participate in the Washington Leadership Conference. The officers learned about focusing on their strengths and the needs in their hometown community in order to create a service project.

They also partook in a “hunger dinner” that was such an eye opener that they decided to base this as their service projects. They both plan to raise awareness for world hunger and donate items to those in need.
