The 17th class of Cardington-Lincoln Hall of Fame honorees were inducted during the 87th Cardington-Lincoln High Alumni banquet.

Inducted during the ceremony conducted by Gary Ebert, committee presi- dent, were Marilyn Radel Davis, Susan Jenkins Peyton, James Clinger and Douglas Poorman, DVM.

Davis, a 1966 graduate, earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. She retired after teaching 37 years at her elementary school alma mater. She also taught adult education. Currently serving a second term on the C-L Board of Education, she was the first woman to serve on the Morrow County Fair Board and is a past president of the C-L alumni association.

Peyton, Class of 1967, attended OSU, served on the C-L Board of Education from 1995-2005 and was president three years. She retired from the Morrow County Hospital in 2011 where she served at various times as the director of Support Services and was the Safety Director. She was elected the first female mayor of her hometown in 2012 and is currently serving her second term.

Clinger, 1972, earned his Computer Programming degree from Marion Technnical College and is currently a Senior Software Engineer at Exact Software

Macola Division.

Jim served on the C-L Board of Education for 24 years and never missed a meeting. He was the school’s representative on the Tri-Rivers JVS Board for many years. He has volunteered in many capacities in the community and school, including improvement to the school’s athletic field and community projects such as the upgrading of the log cabin and the gazebo in the park. He was also a 911 Dispatcher.

Poorman, Class of 1983, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in biology/toxicology from Ashland University and completed his MS degree in Veterinary Pharmacology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University.

He practiced for several years in Morrow County before opening his own practice at Buckeye Lake in 2003. His practice, which includes the treatment of both large and small animals, is noted for his work with wildlife and exotic animals such as lions and tigers. The practice employs 30 full-time employees. Unable to be present for the induction was Clinger. He was represented by his daughter, Megan Clinger.

The Cardington High School Class of 1957 celebrated the 60th anniversary of their graduation at two events.
They met at the Handle Bar Ranch for dinner on Friday, May 26, and again at the 87th Cardington-Lincoln High School
