Harmony Chapel Ice Cream Supper is July 17

Harmony Chapel UMC will hold its Annual Ice Cream Supper on Friday, July 17. Serving begins at 5:00 p.m. The menu includes sandwiches, baked beans, chicken and noodles, variety of salads, and homemade cakes and pies…and of course Ice Cream. The church is located six miles east of Mt. Gilead and one mile south of SR 95 on CR 20. A freewill donation will be collected. An elevator is available for those needing it.

Produce market at CLHS July 31

There will be a Produce Market at Cardington High School on July 31, 2015, 11 am – 2 pm or when the produce is gone. It is open to the public. 7,000 lbs of produce will be delivered from the Mid-Ohio Foodbank to the parking lot. Families will receive 20-30 lbs of produce. Families should be prepared to stand outside in a line, Families need to bring several boxes. No ID is required. Any Central Ohio family may obtain groceries. They must be at or below 200% poverty level.

Make reservations now for Senior Day at Fair

August 4th Senior day at the Ohio State Fair Seniors on Center is planning a day at the Ohio State Fair. Suggested donation of $10.00 for transportation and $4.00 for advanced fair tickets. Reservations need to be made by July 27th. Please call 419-946-4191 if interested.

Public meeting on roads is Aug. 6

The Morrow County Commissioners will be hosting a public meeting regarding County Road issues and concerns on August 6, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Service Building Conference Room, Entrance B located at 619 W. Marion Road, Mt. Gilead.

No Limits needs pantry donations

No Limits Food Pantry needs help from the community to feed Morrow County. Any donation is appreciated. Nonperishable items: Soup, toilet paper, cereal, Vegetables, Peanut Butter, any canned item. We see a rise in food pantry needs when school is out and at the holidays. 4046 Vine Street, Edison, Ohio. Center hours are 9-3 M-F. Food pantry hours 10: to 11:45- 12:30 to 2:45 (Monday, Wednesday & 1st & 3rd Friday of each month). Produce day if 4th Friday of the month.

Kiwanis Club meeting dates

The Mt Gilead Kiwanis Club now meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 11:45 am at the Morrow County Hospital Meeting Room on the lower level. Red Cross needs volunteers

The Morrow County Chapter of the American Red Cross is currently looking for volunteers for the following positions: emergency service training, help with the bloodmobiles, office help, disaster training, speaking for the Red Cross at community meetings and teaching Red Cross classes in our local schools. No Limits posts pantry hours

Our pantry is operated on donations only; we could not do what we do without your help. Regular Food Pantry Hours began in Jan. 2015. 10 a.m.- 2:45 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month. Produce Day is on the 4th Friday of each month from 12-3. No Limits Outreach services

No Limits Outreach is a drop in center for adults over 18 living with mental health issues. We have 2 certified Peer Support specialist on duty daily. Our goal is to have a safe environment, educational resources and a place for a cup of coffee. The food pantry which is part of No Limits is operated by volunteer mental health consumers. We are working with Pantry Trak, a computerized system, which will help your monthly visits easier. Please be patient while we learn the system. TOPS meets on Monday evenings

Narcotics Anonymous daily and night-time meetings held in Mt. Gilead

The Narcotics Anonymous “Lunch Bunch” meetings are being held daily in Mt. Gilead from noon – 1:00 at 81 N. Rich St. The Monday night NA “Hope in Recovery” meeting is being held at this same location from 5:00 – 6:00, and the Friday night NA “Eleventh Step Candle Light” meeting from 7:00 to 8:00.

Friday Night Faith & Hope Group meets weekly

Alcoholics Anonymous meets every Friday night, 8-9 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, 75 S. Cherry St., Mt Gilead. There is also an Al-Anon (family of alcoholics) meeting held separately.

Dance held every Saturday

A Marion Dance is held each Saturday from 8-12 p.m. at Sawyer Ludwig Park in the Shrine Building at 1313 White Oaks Rd., Marion. Admission is $8 for adults. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available. No smoking.

Elm Valley Joint F.D. meets 2nd Monday

The Elm Valley Joint Fire District monthly meeting is held the 2nd Monday monthly at 7 p.m. at 3 N. Harrison St., Ashley, in the firehouse.

Veterans Services meet 3rd Wed. monthly
