Senior English students explored the topic of education reform through a range of online and print resources and did original research before sitting down to interview education experts.

After the students individually investigated topics like high stakes testing, curriculum, technology, student rights, and scheduling, they began working in small groups to work on a plan designed to reform education.

Each group then worked together to develop a list of questions that were used to interview experts including principals; Mount Gilead Superintendent, Jeff Thompson; guidance counselors; and teachers. Tri-Rivers principal, Carol Bebout was one of the guests.

Ohio House Representative from District 87, Wesley A. Goodman also discussed state and national perspectives on education with the students. Senior English teachers, Jessica Gerber and Taylor Bahm worked with District Librarian, Deb Logan to arrange interviews for the students.
