A two-vehicle crash on Wednesday evening in Morrow County left a 20-year-old Mansfield man dead.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 314 and State Route 97 in Troy Township.

Jordan J. Easter, 20, was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where he died from injuries.

According to the Mount Gilead post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kevin E. Sheehe, 49, of Mansfield, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado north on State Route 314, when Easter failed to yield at a stop sign while headed west on Ohio 97, driving a 2007 Saturn Ion, according to the Mount Gilead post.

Antonio J. Slaughter, 19, of Mansfield, a passenger in Easter’s vehicle,was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sheehe also was taken to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, but neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to have been involved.
