A record number of people were served breakfast Oct. 8, to kick off the annual Apple Butter Festival at the Mount Gilead State Park.

A total of 483 people were served. Breakfast was served to 242 diners Sunday morning.

Contributing to the large attendance at the event was perfect autumn weather with sunshine and warm temperatures.

Campsite

Most original- Lucille Beggs, Kent, Ohio;

Best Halloween- Patricia Gahn, Fremont;

Best fall- Phil and Angie McCoy, Mount Gilead

Honorable mention- Megan Maynard, Debrorah Perrot, Whitehall
