Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service in Cleveland OH 1210 pm Tue Jul 7 2015
A strong thunderstorm will affect Morrow, Lucas, Hancock, Erie, Ottawa, Marion, Huron, Wyandot, Wood, Seneca, Crawford, anbd Sandusky counties.
At 1202 pm edt… a line of showers and thunderstorms extended from just east of Toledo to about 10 miles north of Findlay with scattered showers out ahead of the line. The line was moving east at 30 mph.
The line will continue moving steadily east this afternoon and slowly strengthen. Gusty winds from 30-40 mph and heavy downpours can be expected.
The storm prediction center has indicated a marginal risk that some storms could become severe. The main threat would be for damaging winds this afternoon and evening. The storms will develop ahead of a cold front. Heavy rain is also possible with some of the storms…especially across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Heavy rain could produce local flooding.
